NC State: 33 Years and Counting

GO STATE?

To celebrate last night’s win which completes the sweep of NC State in men’s basketball during the regular season once again, we thought we’d update an old graphic that was created while the Wolfpack’s ill-advised “Our State” advertising campaign was ongoing.

DownloadNC State: This Is Our Stat - 33 Years and Counting

Yes, it has been 33 years since the Wolfpack has won a national championship in any sport except… wait for it… Bass Fishing.  North Carolina might be NC State’s state on a level much different from the one they attempted to promote, but that stat is definitely theirs.

A FEW OTHER STATS OWNED BY THE WOLFPACK:
  • NC State is 3-30 against Roy Williams.
  • The last time the Wolfpack had a coach with a winning record against UNC is when they had Everett Case on the sideline from 1946 to 1965. Case was 25-19 against the Tar Heels.
  • NC State is now 77-153 against UNC in men’s basketball.

To be fair, it’s difficult to excel in anything else if you spend every waking moment focused on how to bring down UNC.   Or should we say “UNCheat”, the not-so-ingeniously creative way those adorable whimpering pups now refer to the Tar Heels?

Carolina Victory

Free Carolina Victory Song and Wallpapers:

“Carolina Victory,” one of several University of North Carolina official school songs, was written by Robert McManeus, Class of ’38. If you’ve been to any Tar Heel football or basketball games, I’m sure you’ve heard it.  If you don’t know the song, now is a great time to learn it.

Here are the lyrics:

There’ll be a Carolina Victory
When cross the field the foe has fled
Cheer the team to Victory
For we are Tar Heels Born and Bred (Rah! Rah! Rah!)
Glory Glory U.N.C.
Our hearts will live with thee
Fight! Fight! Fight for the Blue and White are
Rolling to Victory!

And here’s what “Carolina Victory” sounds like:

UNC Beats Clemson in Chapel Hill 57 Straight

Not This Year! 57 and Counting... UNC Beats Clemson in Chapel Hill again.

“UNC Beats Clemson in Chapel Hill”

You’ve heard or read that headline quite a few times unless you’re awfully young or you simply don’t follow Tar Heel basketball.  At some point, Clemson is bound to win again in Chapel Hill.   They have to, don’t they?  Obviously, odds are in their favor.

Year after year, decade after decade, Tar Heels tell each other that Clemson is eventually going to a game in Chapel Hill.  But it didn’t happen in 2014.

Clemson has won exactly ZERO times in the last 57 meetings against the Tar Heels on the hard court in Chapel Hill.  #KeepTheRecordAlive, Tar Heels.
