Jordan UNC Authentic Jersey

If you’re here, you’re likely an avid Tar Heel basketball fan, which stands to reason that you’re a Michael Jordan fan too. It also means you were probably quite disappointed to find out that the recent Tar Heel basketball games in the Bahamas were not televised or streamed. To ease the disappointment, if you’re not already a member at Inside Carolina, I recommend you check them out right now.  You’re find articles, photos and videos from our team’s time in the Bahamas. IC’s Tar Heel hoops coverage is tops in the business. It will help you survive the next few weeks while we await Late Night with Roy on Friday, October 12.

LATE NIGHT WITH ROY 2018

The 2018 version of Late Night with Roy is going to be extra special, as it will include the unveiling of Roy Williams Court. It’s going to be a night for the ages, a night to remember. I hope you will all be able to attend and witness the honoring of one of the greatest coaches in the game in the building named for one of the greatest coaches to have ever lived. Roy Williams Court in the Dean E. Smith Center… Wow, we Tar Heels have certainly been blessed to have had these two fine men in charge of our basketball program, leading the young men who chose to be part of our program, and representing our beloved university across the world.

THE GOAT

As most of you know, Roy Williams played a significant role in recruiting Michael Jordan to UNC. And he served as an assistant coach during the years that Jordan played for the Tar Heels. Many of us certainly hope the GOAT will be able to attend this special ceremony to honor Coach Williams.  With that in mind, if you don’t already have this authentic Michael Jordan Jordan Brand jersey in your collection, this may be a great time to grab one. Wear it to Late Night with Roy! At time of publication of this post, it is on sale for $37.50 OFF regular price at Fanatics. But that particular sale ends soon.

Test Your Tar Heel Basketball Knowledge

How many of the basketball players can you name whose have retired or honored jerseys in the rafters in the Dean E. Smith Center?  Here’s a neat game to test your memory.  It needs an update to include the players since 2009, but it is still a fun way to test your Tar Heel knowledge.

Dean Smith and Bill Guthridge -- from SI Vault

This is a wonderful article by Andrew Carter.  Yes, it’s related to basketball, but it’s about so much more.  It’s about decades of friendship, teamwork, and devotion between two of the men that I respect most in this world.  And it’s about disease, aging, and death.

North Carolina NCAA National Semifinals Game Film

Marcelo Perez - Basketball in a SpoonThis is an exciting weekend for the fans of  the Louisville Cardinals, Kentucky Wildcats, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Kansas Jayhawks.  All four teams will play in the NCAA National Semifinals this evening in New Orleans.  The North Carolina Tar Heels lost to Kansas in the Elite Eight of this year’s NCAA tournament and didn’t make the trip to New Orleans.

At least four members of the current Tar Heel squad have decided to enter the upcoming NBA draft; only one has exhausted his college eligibility.   And the exodus to the NBA may not end there.  James Michael McAdoo is still deciding whether to make the leap with his teammates — Harrison Barnes, John Henson, Kendall Marshall, and Tyler Zeller — or to return to UNC for his sophomore season.

Not only will UNC fans miss the opportunity to watch the 2011-2012 Tar Heel hard court edition reach their dream of winning a National Championship for themselves, their coaches, and all of Tar Heel Nation, but also, we have this entire weekend to ponder what might have been if this talented team could have avoided the unusually high number of serious injuries they suffered this season.  And then there’s this little issue concerning our frontcourt for the 2012-2013 season.

Instead of worrying about McAdoo’s decision and moping around while the Cardinals take on the Wildcats and the Buckeyes take on the Jayhawks, maybe you Tar Heels would enjoy watching a few of Carolina’s previous NCAA National Semifinals.

A Trip Down Memory Lane: UNC vs UMD Basketball Games From the Past

The UNC Tar Heels will face the Maryland Terrapins on Saturday, February 4th in College Park.  Regardless of team rankings, with the support of one of the most rowdy collegiate fan bases out there, the Terps seem to always play well against the Heels in the Comcast Center.

To get you Tar Heel fans fired up for Saturday, here’s a little trip down memory lane from the ACC Vault:
